Update: Judicial Candidate’s Husband Has Problems, Too.

Judicial candidate Mardi Anne Levey’s husband Judge Dale Cohen has problems, too.
 Cohen represented his wife’s campaign at the Broward Election Headquarters during last weekend’s recount in the Circuit Group 4 race.

Wait a minute. 
Wasn’t Mardi Anne Levey on the ballot August 26 running for Group 3 Circuit Judge?  Isn’t Marti Anne Levey due to be on the ballot in November in a runoff for the same post against Bernard “Bernie Bober?

Confirmed: Some high powered lawyers are looking into the possibility of filing charges with the Judicial Qualifications Commission against at least one judicial candidate and a judge. 
It appears that the judge has been involved in other candidate’s  elections a no-no in Florida.  Violators of the Judicial Code of Ethics can be punished all the way to removal from office.
Stay tuned.
Dirty Tricks: A Town of Davie board member has quit after his police record ended up in Davie Council members’ mail boxes. The information involved various charges, but no convictions.
The board member was a Davie resident who had a future political career.  Some of the status quo boys didn’t like that and smeared him.

Greedy Garbage

The guys who pick up your garbage want to pick your pocket.
Waste Management, the sprawling trash hauler and recycler, is trying to buy Republic Services, its smaller rival.
This could have a tremendous impact on Broward County, but all I hear no outcry from local officials.
