Sunrise Officials Scrap Over Project At Edge of Everglades

Sunrise officials are considering a land swap with a developer to save environmentally sensitive property next to the Everglades.

The City of Sunrise would give the developers more suitable land to build an office park and hotel.  In return, the city would get the developers’ 21-plus acres wedged between the Sawgrass Expressway and the River of Grass.

Robinson Case With Judge Who Opposed Judicial Elections

The lawsuit to throw County Court Judge Mary Rudd Robinson’s challenger off the ballot has landed in the courtroom of the judge who for 16 years blocked election challenges to incumbent justices Dale Ross.

The case was filed by the ubiquitous downtown Fort Lauderdale powerbroker Bill Scherer, who has become the defender of incumbent judges.
