With Hubby Under Fire, Lieberman To Speak In Sunrise

BY BUDDY  NEVINS

In the midst of the fight over her husband’s future as Sunrise city attorney, guess who’s popping up to speak at the Central Sunrise Residents Association?

County Commissioner Ilene Lieberman.

Will Lieberman talk about her embattled husband City Attorney Stuart Michelson?  Doubtfulunless proded.

Michelson, who got a no-bid $432,000-plus annual deal to be city attorney, is under fire by the newly elected Mayor Mike Ryan for overbilling and  legal slip-ups.

Will Lieberman talk about the allegations printed in the newspapers and on the Internet that she is under investigation for corruption? Doubtful.unless proded.

Hmmmmm.

There’s no such thing as coincidence.

Pondering, is this influence at its finest? Maybe there can be some old friendships renewed. Our commissioners miss you very much.

  3. City Activist Robert Walsh says:

Although I applaud her for not wanting to raise the Mileage rate in these economic times including Keechl(i know shock me) and Comm.Ritter. That being stated I think her husband is a big boy and can fight his own battles. At making close to a half a million dollars a year I can’t feel sorry for him. Besides she has her own image contol to work on. She was qouted in The SUn-Sentinel Blog that she is against the Ethic Reforms concerning gifts, comped hotel rooms and I’m not talking Days INN here. Yes its shockingly true. MY advice Mrs.Lieberman is stick to the script concerning the Ethics reform and don’t try to twink it to fit your own needs. Yes I admire your transplant charity but this tactic its my way or the highway is unacceptable. And yes you got more connections then Henry Kissinger but this whole debate about you endorsing part of Ethics Reform but don;t like parts that will effect you and your lodging choices makes you look like the Leona Hemsley of Broward County. Come on ,you can certainly pay for some 5 star hotel w/out demanding that some supporter or lobbyist friend should pick up the tab.You are a public servant these statements that the media indulges about you, make you look more like some spoiled social lite that will only accept the 5 star treatment butw/ one catch that you don’t have to pay for it. As far as you being under investigation again for your charity,be careful on how you present yourself to the DA and or FEds there looking to make an example out of some of you.
