Some Good News: Covid-19 New Fl Cases Drop

BY BUDDY NEVINS

A local political scientist and statistician has developed a model which indicates over the past week that “the number of new Florida Covid-19 cases continue to decline.”

Jim Kane, a nationally-known pollster from Broward County who taught survey research at the University of Florida, posted the findings on his The Politics Doctor blog.

Kane warns the decline could immediately reverse if there is a change in the current social distancing guidelines.

Kane’s blog is aimed at folks who understand statistics and modeling, but it can still be read by average folks.

The link with his findings can be found here.

Respectfully n saying I NEVER criticized Mr Kane BEFORE I think ANY SURVEY SHOWING A DECLINE IS DANGEROYSLY FOOLISH BECAUSE at 11 a.m. a 70ish member of a Club I am a member of argued we shoujd resume Shiws in June AND REPEATED REPYBLICAN TALKING POINTS THAT PEOPLE DIE OF FLU N WE DONT SHUT DOWN SHows. I said EVERY MEMBER AT THE SHOW EXCEPT 2 IS OVER 7P n THE MAJORITY HAVE HEALTH ISSUES
.MOREOVER l of the 2 younger IS OBESE SO THATS A HEALTH ISSUE. If Clubs n Groups of older White Republican Males start meeting the death rate will skyrocket. WHERE IS THST TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT?

Good news they say ( Trump medical task force) state the South would not be gutted as hard with the virus than say NYC.There is a whole new world out there being the ” mask”.Wear the mask any where u go- period.Shaking hands no longer will be scene( I say chest bumbs- haven’t t been working for 30 yrs for nothing).I agree w/ Trump w/ his phasing in in stages.First phase non essential business permitted to open.As long as u engage in using the mask.Resturants 6 ft.apart etc.Phase 2 u bring back and open city halls.Third phase u open the flood gates hotels then open up along with cruise ships say a responsible date would be July 1.As long as the phases before this date we don’t t see any significant upticks w/ the virus. Now the other problem where’s the money Governor. These residents who were at go need their money. This monies 600.00 dollars a week was put into law to help these residents. This 600 dollars should have been dispersed weeks ago. This is not the States( fla) money it belongs to Congress who passed measures to give to the residents. This in Florida is a delay of payment.Get moving Governor…

Until there is massive testing the current numbers are meaningless for forecasting peak or past the peak. Look at deaths or hospital stats. They are more reliable.
