Dear Mrs. Lynch:
As Executive Director of the Florida Democratic Party, I am writing to apologize to you on behalf of the Florida Democratic Party for false statements that emanated from this office.
Several weeks ago, the FDP’s Director of Party Affairs sent an email out to several individuals accusing you of misappropriating a $1,500 donation made by the Florida Democratic Party to the Democratic Black Caucus of Florida for the Caucus’ use surrounding their 2010 Convention. These allegations were false and inappropriate. I truly regret that they were made and the resulting attention that this email has drawn to Mrs. Lynch and her family.
Please know that we have notified all who have contacted us, be it the press or individuals, that these allegations were incorrect. And we will continue to inform those who inquire of their false nature.
Again, on behalf of the Democratic Party of Florida, we give our sincerest apologies and we will do whatever it takes to assist you in putting this matter to rest in a satisfactory manner.

As President of the Democratic Black Caucus of Florida (DBCF), I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to Mrs. Ruth Roman Lynch, 1st Vice Chair, Democratic Black Caucus of Florida for all the recent attempts to assassinate her character based on a total fabrication of the facts surrounding the Democratic Black Caucus of Florida’s 2010 Convention and the donation made by the Florida Democratic Party in the amount of $1,500.00.
The check was made out to the Democratic Black Caucus of Florida (DBCF) and deposited in the Democratic Black Caucus of Florida’s State checking account at Suntrust Bank by me. I then purchased a cashier’s check for $1,500 hand delivered it to Corey Alston, President of the Broward Chapter of the DBCF who deposited it into the DBCF, Broward Chapter’s checking account with Citi Bank. The check in question was never presented to the Democratic Black Caucus of Florida, Broward Chapter or Mrs. Lynch. Mrs. Lynch was accused of depositing the check in her personal account, which is a total lie.
Mrs. Lynch was appointed conference co-chair in order to rescue the convention after the previous conference chair quit in the middle of planning. With Mrs. Lynch at the helm as co-chair, the 2010 Conference was by far one of the best the Caucus has ever had.
As for the grievance, all allegations are unfounded and Mrs. Lynch was never in jeopardy of being removed from her position as 1st Vice Chair, Democratic Black Caucus of Florida.
As I stated before, this was an in-house issue that should never have been aired in the media. The actions that were taken by certain members of the DBCF that were not sanction by me or the DBCF Executive Committee, has caused unnecessary damage not only to Mrs. Lynch, but to the entire Democratic process.
Again, on behalf of the Democratic Black Caucus of Florida, our sincerest apologies and we will do whatever is necessary to assist Mrs. Lynch in repairing the damage done to your character.

A Democratic official should be tossed out for depositing $1,500 in her bank account that was supposed to go to a party organization convention, according to a local newspaper.
Ruth Roman Lynch is facing removal as vice president from the Democratic Black Caucus of Florida.
She is also the first vice chair of the Broward Democratic Party and a candidate for School Board.
Lynch was featured in an exclusive Browardbeat.com article earlier this year for allegedly selling access to the black community to clients.
The report was broken by the South Florida Times and its able investigative reporter Elgin Jones.
My favorite line in Jones’ story is when he quotes an e-mail from her about the investigation by the Democratic Black Caucus:
“I have never in my life seen a bunch of African Americans trying to destroy another Black person in this manner. Thank God, that I carry myself in such a manner that my character is always above reproach,†Lynch is quoted.
And she is running for School Board?!?
Hmmmm.

I can hear it now, a replay of her 2006 School Board campaign; “If you want the truth, vote for Ruth.” Better yet, the party’s in trouble with assets like her. “If we’re in a pinch, get rid of Lynch.”

LYNCH NEEDS TO GO! First she shakes down local candidates for her and her broke husband….now she steals from the Democratic Party…she would be a disgrace to serve and I hope someone else who is credible will run against her for School board…or she should just get out the race now

I wonder if this issue is why you were writing to a Criminal Defense Lawyer on Facebook earlier this week, saying:
I lost my phone and all my contacts. Can you email me your cell number please at drruth0213@XXXXX.com. I need to speak to you about a legal matter. Tell your wife that Rober and I said hello. Thanks. My cell number is 954-XXX-XXXX.
Even though I’m critical of this hack and crook, I’m actually a kinder person that she is — I removed part of her email address and her cell number so she doesn’t get harassed about this.
By the way Ruth — an important lesson that I’ve learned of late. Next time, send a Direct Message if you want to avoid everyone from seeing your private business online.

When they want you out of the way its interesting to see how the establishment and the perceived establishment can coalesce like one..
Black, white, democratic, republican — it does not matter.
Take a few missives from a jealous crab in the barrel, disregard a few mea culpas from said crab. Spin the retraction and the chastisment from the grown-ups in charge and wha-la a scandal for the un-informed and the ill-informed.
How delightful! Then to top it off you have another blog repeat the issue as if it were the ecumenical gospel and next thing you know the echo chamber is in full effect.
Folks, when you read these things please think of the back story. The hows and whys. Why would a black newspaper try to smear another black?
Is it because she is one of several blacks that are going to be running for a school board seat. Is it because of her ability to speak English properly?
Is it because certain individuals are threatened by her. Is it because she has county-wide “ins” with people of all stripes and religions?
Elgin should print the emails in their entirety for all to see. I wonder what is in them? I wonder if there is a retraction email? I wonder if he was contacted by folks in the know from both the Florida Democratic Party and the Black Caucus?
It is hard for the real race peddlers to see someone get ahead that is not from the proverbial hood. Get over it!

Wonder why everyone is so quiet now that the facts have come to the surface! Now that the check has surfaced and it is CLEAR that Ruth Lynch DID NOT do anything wrong namely she DID NOT deposit anything in her personal account. It is clear the check was deposited into the State Black Caucus account. This is clear libel with malicious intent. All of you can bend over and kiss your ass goodbye. If I were Ruth I would sue the sh—- out of all of you haters!

If you were only seeking the truth then you would have waited to find out the truth BEFORE assassinating Ruth! It is innocent until proven guilty not the other way around which is why you are getting sued too! I am going to see to it.
As for the candidates name them. You can’t just throw out a wild allegation against someone that you know is not true and assassinate their character. Name the candidates. Who did they allegedly write the checks to? Why in the world are you accusing this woman (Ruth Lynch) of placing Black Caucus money into her personal bank account. It is clear she did not do that. The front of the check shows the bank and the name of the bank account holder. There is no endorsement on the bank as that was the reason it was returned. It already shows the account it was deposited into-the Democratic Black Caucus of Florida.

I find it interesting that Ruth Lynch is a victim of The State Democratic Party. It was Millie Smith(Secretary for the State Party)that spread this (lie) story. It was Corey Alston who knew it was a lie and didn’t defend Ruth Lynch when he could have stopped the lie at its source. Its also Corey Alston who leaked the story to the media about Percy Johnson before Percy could even give a report to The Council of Club Presidents to justify his spending for the Council when he was Treasurer. This is the same Corey Alston that’s under investigation with the Broward Democratic Party for his support of a Republican Candidate. Smells like Dirty Politics for Corey to get ahead. What job is Corey after?

And btw, Ruth Lynch and Percy Johnson leaked the nasty story on Corey Alston allegedly supporting a Rep candidate…now all of sudden, Alston notified the media of story on Percy (Sounds like the story is true and Percy has admitted STEALING MONEY)…the same Percy who is CURRENTLY CHALLENGING Corey for Pres of the Black Caucus…the same Percy who takes crumbs from any political candidate…the same Percy who does Mitch and Dianne’s dirty work..the Democratic “activists” are all slimy and corrupt! Thank you, Mr. Nevins, for printing the truth and setting the record straight.
People are going to talk about us no matter what. Mr. Lynch and I normally don’t read any of the garbage that is said about us, be it good or bad. We just trust that God is always on the scene, even when things seem to be spiraling out of control. I feel sorry for all the people who seem to hate us, especially, since they don’t even know us. I have chosen to pray for all of them.
The only control that people have over us is the control we give them. My grandmother once said, “What people think about you is none of your business.” I am here to be of service. “Service is the price we pay for the air that we breathe.” I am only concerned about what my children, grandchildren and the many young women that I mentor throughout the country think about me.
As far as Mr. Lynch is concerned, haters and liars will always be exposed. Robert says, “Being in the political arena, you can always expect your detractors, but to stoop to character assassination is as low as a person can get.â€
I always knew that I would be totally vindicated. We live in a peaceful household and sleep very well at night.

They say to be copied is flattering. Number 1….you truly don’t know anything about this situation. Ruth Lynch has been a victim of jealous people. She has held her head high and has been professional during this whole falsehood. Again the FACT is that Corey knew the whole time Ruth did not deposit the check and didn’t step up to correct the lie. This is simple, if one brother is like that he’s a reflection of his brother.. Do we need another lier on the School Board. Ruth Lynch has my vote.

I was a consultant to one of the judges that ran in 2010 and enlisted the help of Ruth and Robert Lynch. I can tell you the judges was very satisfied with the Lynch’s assitance in the camapaign.
Both of them are good people and have been fully vindicated. Politics surely is a nasty profession.
