Scott Israel’s GoFundMe Campaign Backfiring

BY BUDDY NEVINS

Former Sheriff Scott Israel’s GoFundMe legal defense effort is seriously lagging.

The goal of the page was to raise $20,000.  It has taken in $415 in a week, according to the page.

The page was established January 29 by political consultant Amy Rose, who helped run Israel’s victorious campaigns. Rose’s husband Wally Eccleston reportedly lost his job at the Broward Sheriff’s Office after Israel was thrown out of office by Gov. Ron DeSantis last month.

At least one of the dozen donors appear to be critics of the beleaguered former sheriff.

The donor at the top of the list at the time of publication called themselves “Useless Gunzy.” That seems to be an attack on Israel’s former General Counsel Ron Gunzburger, a longtime political strategist who also helped elect the former sheriff. Gunzburger is leaving Broward Sheriff’s Office next month to work for Gov. Larry Hogan of Maryland.

I find this so tacky.Pay for your own atty.Yes, lawyers are expensive but to set up a fund. The money he made as sheriff.Certainly, he wasn’t t making ten(10) bucks an hour.He is another one.Move on.Go fishing.Or more like it set up your own security business.I can’t t stand a beggar, or a mooch for that matter…

  2. Its a new day! says:

He could make more money with a car wash, recycling aluminum, or mowing lawns. However, those ventures would involve working; obviously he just wants a handout. Or, he could retire and collect a nice pension! That would be a win-win. He could enjoy being a private citizen and the public would not have to see his name any more.

  3. Rightwinger says:

Move on to Blairsville with the rest of us. They have a road patrol slot open. Let down and relax. Also new Sheriff Tony, get rid of those Community liaison people. They are an inside line to Scott. Love Georgia. Let the deputies be the liaison like it used to be.

  4. Learn to play shuffleboard says:

What’s evident is a case of ” Love me, hate me, but don’t ignore me.” With regard to pathology, this would be a field day of a case study. It would be interesting to know what his expectations were within the first 24 hours of the fund. A narcissist keeps close count of his supply of loyalists; the instruments of their survival. They say that ignorance is bliss; but what about delusion? What’s left here? Senior citizens at Century Village, on a fixed income, offering their social security to a fellow senior citizen. That’s shameless.

  5. Ari Nabor says:

Scott Israel shouldn’t go around with his hat-in-hand. Its beneath him and his (onetime?) office. It looks like he’s Roger Stone. And by all means don’t go to a handful of rich backers because that wouldn’t look good either. You want the job? Fork over the money from your own bank.

  6. Sheriff Blew It says:

ron blew it on Parkland coming right after he blew it on the airport shooting. The buck stops in his desk.

  7. No more rose hacks says:

Finally, this politically corrupt circle is beginning to crumble. Rose running the campaigns of Scott Israel, Angelo Castillo, Bill Ganz and Tom Good and all weaseling tax payer dollars away from all of us. Israel hires husband and wife at 255k with no experience and then Roses’s husband as well along with Shevrin Jones, Tom Good works for Mayor Bill Ganz in Deerfield and then uses Deerfield tax dollars for his commission job in Pines. Tom Good, Castillo, and Shevrin Jones all pulling two tax payer salaries and all tied to Rose. Time for this to stop. What’s next, Rose running Patti Good for SOE. Please stop.

You watch County Sheriff Deputies one the one hand n Fort Lsuderdale Police Officers on the other hand doing the same non lethal bureaucratic functions n the Deputies have twice or thrice the proceedues delaying them n witnesses.

  9. Garl Pink says:

Mr. Nevins, while I assume you regret the election of Ron DeSantis you should at least learn to spell his name correctly.

    FROM BUDDY:

Thanks for pointing my typo out.

  11. Charlotte Greenbarg says:

Count, you have nine cats? You will be rewarded with a special place in heaven. You are correct. It’s about the sheeple in Broward. The corruption has been ignored for decades by the SA who is elected by the machine
