Sam Fields vs. Steve Kane: Tomorrow on 1470 A.M. Radio

BY BUDDY NEVINS

Browardbeat.com’s guest columnist, Sam Fields, will be on the Steve Kane radio show on Tuesday at 7:30 a.m.  Kane is on WWNN 1470 AM Radio.

Fields is an outspoken atheist. Kane was born Jewish and became an outspoken Christian.

Both are able debaters.

Fields biography from his law firm’s website:

Mr. Fields’ areas of practice include civil litigation, administrative/governmental relations and criminal law.

Mr. Fields is an AV (R) rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell and has more than 20 years of extensive trial experience with over 200 jury trials to verdict. His criminal cases range from traffic infractions to death penalty cases. He is also experienced in complex white collar crime law. In the area of civil litigation, he has prosecuted fraud, civil theft, breach of contract and received damage judgments in excess of $3,000,000 on behalf of clients.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Fields was a Washington lobbyist and Capitol Hill staffer. He also was the founder of a products liability clearing-house for firearms litigation. Before joining the Firm, Mr. Fields was an attorney at the Public Defender’s Office in Broward County, Florida and conducted more than 50 jury trials. While there, Mr. Fields rose to the rank of Senior Felony Trial Attorney.

Mr. Fields is an active volunteer for several community organizations including Broward Lawyers Care, the Guardian Ad Litem program and Center One, where he has represented HIV/AIDS patients in legal matters. In addition, he has done pro bono work for the Soref and Posnack Jewish Community Centers.

Kane’s credentials on his www.stevekaneshow.com are:

Whether served fresh and hot in the morning hours, or by way of rebroadcasts in the over-nights, Kane brings a style of talk to South Florida that he, himself, originally brought to the  market 25 years ago … to be imitated, but not at all duplicated.

Steve was first introduced to his brand of talk while working as producer for the nationally syndicated JOE PYNE TELEVISION SHOW in the 60’s, and later in 1973 as Associate Producer of the late night DICK CAVETT SHOW.

Steve has been hosting radio since 1975, he came to south Florida in 1983 and has been on the air in this market ever since,  except for a year he spent hosting morning drive on WABC in New York as the lead in to Rush Limbaugh.

Steve has appeared as a guest on the following national television shows:  GERALDO RIVERA, THE OPRAH WINFREY SHOW, DONAHUE,  MAURY POVICH, PAULA ZAHAN, and was featured on 60 Minutes in a segment titled “The Most Controversial Talk Hosts in America,” where he appeared with Howard Stern and the late Alan Berg, (shortly before his murder.)

Today, Steve can be heard weekday mornings on 1470 WWNN live from 6 till 9am with overnight rebroadcasts midnight till 6am on 1470 and 740 AM.

It should be an interesting show.

  1. Wack Job Alert says:

Kane and Fields deserve each other. They are both over the edge, crazy.
Look at Kane who is on an AM radio station, a band which isn’t even available to a lot of people. Fields is a half-baked lawyer who is the laugh of the courthouse.

  2. Tyronne Steele says:

It bothers me how stupid some people can be. AM radio is not only the most widely listened to band in the world but has improved with the advent of digital radio and streaming audio. In fact, each and every car in the world and every radio contains an AM band.

I enjoy listening to AM 1470 WWNN in the morning. Steve Kane and his “brand” of radio has survived the years and has survived through these touch economic times.

Although Buddy Nevins was a mainstay at the Sun-Sentinel throughout the years, he is now the author of a broken down blog with yesterdays news today. With the Internet, it is all about news now.

I will tune into Steve Kane and liberal Sam Fields today. Before spitting him out and throwing him to the wolves, a good time should be had. In closing, it is G-d’s word of Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.

  3. Sam Fields says:

    Tyronne Steele???

Spelling God G-d is the way Orthodox Jews spell it.

An Orthodox Jew with with not just a goyish name but one that sounds like it belongs to a porn star.

Whouda thunk it. Do you do S & M using tfillin?

  4. Tyronne Steele says:

Are you jealous that someone of my race and name may be better “situated” than a yenta who has nothing better to do than spread hate?

  5. Marty Rubinstein says:

Excuse me, but liberals can’t possibly hate since that’s a word assigned to Republicans and Conservatives. Liberals can’t hate just as blacks can’t be racists.

Let’s re-educate you. Liberals spread I-N-T-O-L-E-R-A-N-C-E. Spell it out 100 times so that you get the point. Liberals don’t hate, they’re intolerant.

Proof of the pudding was the fact at one of my School Board meetings 25 speeches were delivered, 21 of them promoting freedom of speech for everybody and four accusing the other 21 of hatred.

Every time the words “freedom of speech” were said aloud, the entire audience erupted in cheers and applause. Well, everybody but the four bastions of intolerance, that is.

    They sat on their hands.

And Sam, you did a great job on Kane’s show. It was good radio despite the fact that you and Kane were opposite ends of the spectrum.

  6. Kevin T says:

    Marty – You state:

Excuse me, but liberals can’t possibly hate since that’s a word assigned to Republicans and Conservatives.

Tell me how do you explain the hatred directed tot he ex president?

  7. Marty Rubinstein says:

Simple… We need to build a Liberal/Conservative Dictionary.

    LIBERAL CONSERVATIVE
    Intolerant Hate
    Liquid Wet
    Wetlands Jungle
    Hyperactive Undisciplined
    Disruptive Undisciplined
    Misunderstood Undisciplined
    Global Warming Al Gore Fantasy
    Green Space Undeveloped land

    Additions welcome….

To The Honorable Windbag General Samuel Fields:
    Please, give it a rest.
When I read your columns I am reminded of Charlie Brown’s teacher.

  9. Sam Fields says:

    Dear Onehorsetwon,
I feel your pain. Acordingly, I will ask Congress to repeal the law that requires you to read my rants.
