After the war Rozie and her husband Sidney Brown lived in Philadelphia. She began her 30-year teaching career in the Philadelphia public schools, while he was a sports writer for the Philadelphia Inquirer.

In 1946, Sidney Brown opened an advertising specialties firm in Philadelphia.

The couple moved to Weston in 1996 after spending many winters in Bonaventure as snowbirds.

Rozie was a championship golfer, avid reader, and world traveler who enjoyed current events and political involvement.  She also took great pleasure in the accomplishments of her children and grand and great-grandchildren, according to an obituary prepared by the family.

She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Sidney, 94. She is also survived by son David and his wife, Dr. Laurie Gordon Brown, an Assistant Professor at Nova Southeastern College of Dental Medicine and daughter, Patty Brown Carlis, who lives in Allentown, Pa., is a former Muhlenberg College Instructor and children’s theater camp owner and her husband, Dr. Ian Carlis, a dentist in Allentown, PA.
