Report: BSO’s Long-Time Chaplain Resigns
BY BUDDY NEVINS
Richard “Rick” Braswell, Broward Sheriff’s Office’s veteran chaplain, has resigned after more than 22 years on the job, according to the South Florida Times quoting several anonymous sources.
Braswell’s resignation, if true, comes just weeks after he was being picked to announce the death of former Sheriff Nick Navarro to the public, BSO deputies and staff.
According to the newspaper report, Braswell has been under fire for alleged sexual harassment.
Here is the South Florida Times report.

Good Man??
He is a total POS and has people fooled about who he really is. I have watched him in action for awhile and would have come forward sooner had I thought someone would have believed me. I feel sorry for his wife. TOTAL SCUMBAG

Prediction: Lamberti hires a black pastor for $100K to be “chaplain” in disguise of a campaign operative assigned to the black vote.

First of all I want to thank South Florida Times reporter Elgin Jones on first reporting about this Chaplain. Even your own Chaplain sucks Lamberti. Please Comm.Bruce Roberts or Police Chief Frank Adderly or Fire Chief Justinak please consider running for Sheriff. You all could beat Lamberti hands down. I know your all comfortable in your postions, but as they say”ships in a harbor are safe, but that is not what ships are built for.” Please consider it.

Chaplin Braswell was a class-act. He treated everyone with respect and dignity. I am sure everyone has skeletons in their closet, but in my encounters with Chaplin Braswell i found him to be compassionate, sincere and professional. I hope his replacement is ready to fill some big shoes. As for tattletail’s allegations, the prisoner’s had a word for tattletails i believe it was call being a “RAT”…rats live in garbage…’ nuff said.

Bruce……unfortunately his problems are not “skeletons”. They are current. If he wasn’t engaged in the behavior he is accused of – and behavior that I HAVE WITNESSED, he would not be here. Men of God don’t do the things I personally have witnessed. You are entittled to your opinion, but there are FACTS. Do you really think this was one person who complained?

By the way…he is no longer “Chaplain” Braswell – and hopefully the person who fills his shoes won’t follow in his footsteps
