Preppy Conservative Rappers A Joke

They call themselves “The Young Cons.

David Ruffel and Josh Riddle are two prep school/Dartmouth rappers spewing a White Right Wing message.

 the young cons

The Young Cons

They love Jesus.

They love Alice Rosenbaum— a.k.a. Ayn Rand.

They love Wall Street.

They hate government regulation– except in the bedroom.

Check out these lyrics from the Riddle who’s rap name is “Stiltz” because he is 6′ 9″:

“I’m 6’9 head and shoulder above the rest

Liberals playin checkers, I’m playin chess

My conservative view is drill baby drill

You can say you hate me but

I’m praying for you still

My dislike for thee most def is not hyperbole

Taxes are the subject and I will spit them verbally

I’m just livin life a conservative philosophy

Sorry Hilary not a right wing conspiracy

We need more women with intellectual integrity

I’m talkin Megyn Kelly not Nancy Pelosi

(Fox News’ Kelly)kelly fox news

My main motto is you best work hard

It’s not the hand you were given, but how you lay down your cards

I don’t speak lies but I spit the facts

28% the new capital gains tax

Porkulus bill lacks a few stats

The more money we spend, the more mine is worth Jack

The Bible says we’re a people under God,

Usin radar for radical Jihad

AIG was hooked up by Chris Dodd

A classy gift ain’t an Ipod

The standards of my crew ain’t republicans dude

I’m reppin Jesus Christ and conservative views

Study history and true conservative moves

Every single time they refuse to lose

I’m starting to see a modern day Jimmy Carter

When really nothin but a Reagan era starter

It’s hard to tell which should be more embarrassed– Dartmouth’s music, philosophy, religion or English department.

Listen to them at their website. What’s worse than a rich White Ivy Leaguer trying to sound like is he straight out of Compton?

Has not Vanilla Ice brought enough suffering to our people?

Apparently not.

So what is their message?  It’s right to life, anti government, Jesus as a hedge fund operator and Atlas Shrugged as a new chapter for the Bible.

It’s as if they never read the Bible or Atlas Shrugged.

Jesus is viewed by his followers as the son of God. The Bible reports he told his followers that materialism is wrong and charity is right.  He told his followers to give their possessions to the poor and follow him because the end was nigh.

Ayn Rand was an atheist, pro-choice and hated charity.  Religion and tithing were for suckers.  It only encouraged sloth.

Her philosophy, which she called Objectivism, was atheist Existentialism.  It was based on selfishness with Nietzsche’s superman [e.g. John Gault] thrown in for good measure.

If she had believed the fishes and loaves story–which she didn’t–she would have attacked Jesus for giving it away.  He should have sold fish sandwiches at the market rate.

Her only god was lassie faire capitalism which she outlined in her book The Virtue of Selfishness.  Simply put, he who ends up with the most toys wins.  The Gordon Gekko character in the movie Wall Street summed it up in his “greed is good speech.

Ruffel/Riddle and Rand have nothing else in common.  Nevertheless, a significant percentage of White rightwing have deluded themselves to think otherwise.

In music it’s the same crap you hear from C & W singer Toby Keith. But at least Keith has the decency to sing like a White man.

All the Young Cons have done is put  the “con back in Con Job.

    Sam –

These two guys are nitwits on so many levels. Besides being intellectually dishonest, I have a feeling they are, at best, self-absorbed upper-middle class kids who in the end, are just pulling a prank.

I also am no country music fan, but don’t paint Toby Keith with the same brush. There were many progressives and liberals back in the immediate aftermath of 9/11 that abandoned their principles and core beliefs due to their fear and anger over what occurred in NY, DC and PA. I have forgiven many of them for this understandable temporary insanity.

Toby Keith was one of them and has acknowledged such. If you read his interviews and his music (other than the two post-9/11 songs that got so much airplay), you’d know he is a pro-union blue collar democrat, who was against the War in Iraq from the get-go, supported Presidents Clinton and endorsed President Obama, and has supported other progressive/liberal candidates and causes (not the least of which are Al Gore’s environmental initiatives).

Smear the two nitwits, go after the Pat Boones or Ted Nugents, etc. for their political views, etc.

  2. Dave R says:

It does seem as though Representatve Pelosi and “Krew” don’t think our Constitution applies to them when they are apparently making decisions on our behalf. Megyn Kelly could tells ya that!

  3. Sad Sam says:

You probably would be happy with the Internationale?

  4. Cindy C. says:

I found myself tapping my toe.

  5. Really Sam? says:

Sam – It’s Galt, not Gault. The fact that you can’t correctly spell the name of her most known character makes me question whether you ever read Atlas Shrugged and how much you really know about Ayn Rand.

Also, your interpretation that she “hated charity” is an oversimplification. Here’s the quote from her 1964 interview in Playboy:

PLAYBOY: Do you consider wealthy businessmen like the Fords and the Rockefellers immoral because they use their wealth to support charity?

RAND: No. That is their privilege, if they want to. My views on charity are very simple. I do not consider it a major virtue and, above all, I do not consider it a moral duty. There is nothing wrong in helping other people, if and when they are worthy of the help and you can afford to help them. I regard charity as a marginal issue. What I am fighting is the idea that charity is a moral duty and a primary virtue.

Doesn’t exactly sound like she “hates charity,” but I guess it would not support your viewpoint to be intellectually honest.
