Obama Retains Most Jewish Support

BY BUDDY NEVINS

The multi-million dollar effort by casino owner Sheldon Adelson and others to wean Jews away from President Barack Obama largely failed, according to an exit poll.

Sheldon Adelson

Not surprising, since only 10 percent of the Jewish voters interviewed identified Israel as decisive in how they vote.

Obama’s alleged lack of support for Israel was the major issue pushed in ads aimed at the Jewish community.

Support among Jewish voters for Obama dropped from 74 to 70 percent, obviously not enough to make a difference.

A link is here to the story posted on TMP concerning the poll.

Perhaps Jewish voters are not as stupid as neocons suppose.

  2. A Jewish Voter says:

The campaign by the Republicans was cynical and insulting.Jews are not sheep and they are not stupid. They are like other voters who caee about Medicare and the economy. I’m glad to see the truth come out that Jews concern for Israel is way down the list.

  3. Sam The Sham says:

It is interesting that only about 10% of the people who identify themselves as Jews are actually religious Jews. The other 90% are secular Jews who don’t take their religion seriously. Why don’t they abandon the sham of their identity?

It is also interesting that more Christians are concerned about Israel than Jews.

    @ #3 SO TRUE

  5. Kevin says:

I’ve never understood how religious, especially Orthodox, Jews can’t understand why right wing evangelical Christians “love” Israel and Jews so much….. because in their worldwiew Jews and Israel are necessary to bring back Jesus, and of course a by-product is that all the Jews will be consumed by fire.

    Talk about a strange coalition.

    The Christian Way of living…

Let’s examine that for a moment, but reaching for their owner’s manual… aka the bible.

Let’s start off with a favorite of the ladies… What does the bible have to say about rape?

    Deuteronomy 20:10-14
As you approach a town to attack it, first offer its people terms for peace. If they accept your terms and open the gates to you, then all the people inside will serve you in forced labor. But if they refuse to make peace and prepare to fight, you must attack the town. When the LORD your God hands it over to you, kill every man in the town. But you may keep for yourselves all the women, children, livestock, and other plunder. You may enjoy the spoils of your enemies that the LORD your God has given you.

Well when you think about that last quote, it’s kinda like a three-fer. Rape, murder, and pillage. Oh, that whacky God…

Now, how about slavery… What does the good book say about that?

    Leviticus 25:44-46 NLT
However, you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you. You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way.

Seems that, according to the word of gawd, slaves are clearly property to be bought and sold like livestock.

Beautiful! Praise Jesus and pass the altar boy!!!

Hey bible, what about human sacrifice?

Genesis, the first book of the Bible, has Abraham preparing to sacrifice his son to God.

    Genesis 22:1-18
Take your son, your only son – yes, Isaac, whom you love so much – and go to the land of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will point out to you.

And when it comes to fucking you up with the weather …

    Nahum 1:2-8 NLT
The LORD is a jealous God, filled with vengeance and wrath. He takes revenge on all who oppose him and furiously destroys his enemies! The LORD is slow to get angry, but his power is great, and he never lets the guilty go unpunished. He displays his power in the whirlwind and the storm. The billowing clouds are the dust beneath his feet. At his command the oceans and rivers dry up, the lush pastures of Bashan and Carmel fade, and the green forests of Lebanon wilt. In his presence the mountains quake, and the hills melt away; the earth trembles, and its people are destroyed. Who can stand before his fierce anger? Who can survive his burning fury? His rage blazes forth like fire, and the mountains crumble to dust in his presence. The LORD is good. When trouble comes, he is a strong refuge. And he knows everyone who trusts in him. But he sweeps away his enemies in an overwhelming flood. He pursues his foes into the darkness of night.

Lovely… Someone get Brian Norcross on the line!

And finally, one medically related passage — prayer curing the sick.

    James 5:14-15 ASV
Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: and the prayer of faith shall save him that is sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, it shall be forgiven him.

And to think, I went through chemo for my testicular cancer, I could have just prayed the disease away.

Jewish identity is not sham by any means. We are Jewish by birth, tradition and culture as well as by religion. Most Christians understand that. Apparently you re not one of them.

There are some who say cancer and disease are a punishment from God.

  9. Sam The Sham says:

No, cancer and disease are just a part of life. Liberals are a punishment from God.

American Jewish vote will not be courted in upcoming election as was in the past. The new and upcoming voting block is the Hispanics vote and women. In the past Israel was the only “offering” the American Jews had to bargin with to gain a mainstream status. These days Israel is no longer maonstream.
