Menagerie Greets Guests At Broward County Political Fundraiser For Judge

As Broward Country Property Appraiser Lori Parrish prepares for her weekend fundraiser at her new Southwest Ranches home, she discovered she had a population challenge:

Fifteen more chickens were born on Wednesday.

The new arrivals add to the uniqueness for Broward political contributors fortunate to attend a future Parrish fundraiser.

Most political receptions are thrown in taverns that reek of urbanity. Places where the barkeeps mix oh-so-hip concoctions like Bat Out Of Hell — rum, blue curacao and Red Bull.

Parrish’s fundraisers have real bats!

Her new digs is an arcadian oasis of her lush orchid collection, tropical plants and wildlife in an increasingly wall-to-wall Broward.

The growing family of chickens now has 34 members.  There is also a screech owl, two bats and assorted other beasties. She has plans to buy two little goats for her granddaughter Kaylee in the summer.

The first beneficiary of this pastoral paradise will be judicial candidate Michael Lynch. There is a fundraiser for his Group 24 Circuit Court race planned for Sunday.

Group 24 is currently held by retiring Circuit Judge Jack Luzzo.

The judiciary runs in Lynch’s family. His father, Circuit Judge Tom Lynch, has been a judge since 1984 and has one of the best reputations of anyone in the courthouse. An earlier post about Michael Lynch is linked here.

Parrish told Browardbeat that there is a limit to the size of her menagerie.

“Kaylee wants a horse, a cow , sheep and a small pig,” she texted “I said, No. This is lots of fun, but lots of work.”

Subject: Thomas Michael Lynch for Circuit Court Judge

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce that  Michael Lynch  is running for Broward Circuit Court Judge in Group 24, which is an open seat.  We are honored and proud to support Michael in his campaign for Broward County Circuit Court Judge.

We are very fortunate to have been friends and associated with the Lynch family for most of our lives.  In our 38 combined years as Judges in Broward County, we have had the privilege to work with and observe Michael Lynch in his capacity as a lawyer. Over the years, we have watched Michael grow as an attorney to become an experienced trial lawyer. Besides possessing the legal skills to be a great Circuit Court Judge, Michael has become a person who possesses the common sense, compassion and sensitivity necessary to be a great judge.   In his career, Michael  Lynch has represented thousands of people in the Broward County Judicial System. He has spent much of his time in the courtroom successfully litigating cases.

As everyone knows, the Lynch family has given back so much to our community, not only Hollywood, but to all of Broward County for decades.  If elected Circuit Court Judge, Michael  Lynch will continue that legacy of public service that began with his grandparents and continues on today. We are sure that   Michael  Lynch  will serve Broward County with honor and distinction possessing the judicial demeanor that we deserve and expect from our judiciary.

Running for office in Broward County with a population of 2 million people is a daunting challenge.   Michael needs your help and financial support to get his message out to the voters.

Florida election law permits an individual or legal entity to contribute up to $1000.00. Please make your contribution payable to the Michael Lynch Campaign Account and send to Jay Spechler at 200 South Andrews Avenue, Suite 900, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida 33301.

Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO FINDS A FUNDRAISER BY THE SITTING PROPERTY APPRAISER N NEARLY EVERY PROMINENT LOBBYIST N DEMOCRATIC OFFICE HOLDER FOR A JUDICIAL CANDIDATE…

AND PEOPLE ASK WHY PUBLIC OFFICIALS ARE HELD IN COMTEMPT? WHY THERE IS UNDERVOTING IN EDUCATED WHITE PRECINCTS?

  3. Count LF Chodkiewicz Chudzikiewicz says:

Dear Mr Nevins by deleting my main point the posting is pointless. But why the deletion? Neither bad language a personal act simply a statement of fact – WAS IT NOT?

    FROM BUDDY:

    Off point, as I recall.

  4. Howard the Moron says:

While Parrish has done a good job as the PA, she is still known as the queen bee of corruption in Broward. She has just managed to stay off the biased media radar.

    FROM BUDDY:

Although I like Lori and admire what she has accomplished, I had plenty of differences with her in the past. She came in to the Sun-Sentinel to complain about my coverage at one point.
Through all the time she has been in public life, I have never heard her accused of being “the queen bee of corruption in Broward.” .

  5. Count LF Chodkiewicz Chudzikiewicz says:

Could we please define “corruption” as specific acts that HAVE BEEN OFFICIALLY or LEGALLY CONDEMNED instead of undocumented uninvestigated general allegations of “corruption”.

  6. Stormwatch says:

I see Vic Tobin didn’t make the S&C Lynch mob list. Those baby chix are adorable. It’s a barbecue so there’s gotta be chicken. Maybe people will dance the funky chicken. Is chicken man going to be there? Will anyone’s car get chicken scratched?
