Kristin Jacobs Gets Presidential Appointment
BY BUDDY NEVINS
County Commissioner Kristin Jacobs was appointed on Friday to a key presidential task force on climate change.
Jacobs is the only member from Florida of the new task force, which will recommend ways to cope with changes in the environment.
“This is just about the most exciting thing that ever happened to me,” Jacobs said.
The nine-member commission’s most outspoken advocate for coping with climate change, Jacobs has long warned that the county must prepare for rising sea levels that threaten Broward.
She said that not only the coast is threatened, but extremely low-lying southwest Broward could be flooded in the future.
“We still have time to adapt and mitigate,” Jacobs said. “That’s why this task force is important.”
An executive order creating the task force was signed by President Barack Obama on Friday. Others appointed include governors, political leaders and others from across the country.
No Republican governor agreed to serve.
The task force must present its findings within six months.
Jacobs is currently running for a seat in the Florida House to replace state Rep. Jim Waldman, D-Coconut Creek. Waldman is facing term limits in November, 2014.
A campaign ad about her role in the task force which includes a picture of Jacobs and the president can only help her campaign.
Here is what the order states about the task force:
“Within 1 year of the date of this order, the Task Force shall provide, through its Co-Chairs, recommendations to the President and the Council for how the Federal Government can:
(i) remove barriers, create incentives, and otherwise modernize Federal programs to encourage investments, practices, and partnerships that facilitate increased resilience to climate impacts, including those associated with extreme weather;
(ii) provide useful climate preparedness tools and actionable information for States, local communities, and tribes, including through interagency collaboration as described in section 6 of this order; and
(iii) otherwise support State, local, and tribal preparedness for and resilience to climate change.”

This is fantastic news!
Does this mean she will resign from the commission, abandon running for state leg where she does not live ?
Or will she move in with, I invented the internet, Al Gore?

For all the sheep giving accolades to Ms Kristin Jacobs you should do your homework. She believes in relinquishing your constitutional rights to the United Nations.
Please look at the last link listing all the politicians that do not follow the oath of office they swore to uphold the laws of United States Of America & Constitution.

Oh man, #4, you’re telling Al Gore jokes in 2013.
Good to know Kristin’s opponents are going to be this savvy from the get go. Some of us were starting to worry that this would be contested race.

Nobody gives a crusty cigar about this appointment.

Another reason not to vote for her. Every vote she has ever cast costs taxpayers money.
