Kristin Jacobs’ Fund Raising Crushes Opponent
BY BUDDY NEVINS
Broward County Commissioner Kristin Jacobs proved the power of an office holder when it comes to raising money.
In Jacobs’ race for state House, Jacobs is crushing her opponent Steve Perman in fund raising.
Drawing on many who do business with Broward County, Jacobs raised $64,588 so far. Perman, a chiropractor and a former state representative from Palm Beach County, raised $25,928.
Both are running in the Democratic primary next August for heavily Democratic House District 96 in North Broward.
Perman has at least one thing going for him: The backing of state Rep. Jim Waldman, the Coconut Creek Democrat who now serves in the seat.
Waldman is term limited after the 2014 spring session.

surprise – a sitting county commissioner is able to generate large amounts of money for a campaign. wow.

Thank God she’ll be gone. She is really short on intellect and long on self-importance. Her lack of respect and kindness for the public and others who might disagree with her will not be missed. So sad that she ends her tenure in a very different note than when she started. She went from being a fresh outsider to being a political hack and insider.

Of course special interests are going to give money to a County Commish who votes on their issues. Just what we don’t need in politics. Perman did great job in Tally..he definitely has my vote

If I could paraphrase the great Columbia University history Professor Allan Nevins and Willy Sutton, “you got to go where the contracts are to give your bucks”! Whether the Bank of US under Jackson or today, same old, same old, UNTIL THE PUBLIC STARTS PARTICIPATING IN POLITICS!

Wasn’t there a Steve Perman in the state legislature from North Palm Beach? Maybe this Steve can convince Coconut Creek that he’s the same guy.

Let’s look at the facts! Jacob”s has recieved most of her money from special interest groups, A career politician like Jacob’s is not what needed to represent the Democratic Voters in Tallahassee.
We need a candidate like Dr. Steve Perman whom has a “Noted” proven track record in Tallahassee and has NOT been influenced by special interest groups like Jacob’s.
In Margate, we believe in Steve !

Special interest contributors hope the commissioner will return the favor. Perman answers to the voters, my vote is to send him back to Tallahassee to do a great job again.

That’s a very “un-Broward-like” large amount of money at this point in a campaign.

You’re right Ghost. There should be an ethics code against it. Kristen being so ethically should voluntarily impose one on herself.
Instead she is doing what the public doesn’t want to see. Influence peddeling.
What do you think the lobbyist do this for? Being nice? No, they want to grease the wheels and get some favorable results from her.

Imagine that. Jacobs, who doesn’t live in the district, tried to hide the fact that she doesn’t live in the district, gets a bunch of money from people who will have business before the country commission and nail down her vote in exchange for campaign cash.
How nice for her. She has an endless supply of special interest pockets she can pick.

more hype and spin
votes are needed not just $
if economy stays bad few may vote in Aug 2014
if economy gets better by Aug 2014 few may vote
so the 15% that follow issues will vote and i’m betting today it won’t be for Jacobs
of course that can change in next 10+ months till early voting starts

Steve Perman has been in Tallahassee and is honest, sincere, candidate with integrity, no games, no special interest will make him vote anyway but is in the best interest of the district he represents. I know him personally and when he was in Tally, he is the kind of person I want representing me. Money does not make the candidate a winner but HONEST, NO SPECIAL INTERESTS IN HIS POCKETS.. VOTE THE MAN THAT WILL HAVE YOUR CONCERNS AND WILL FIGHT FOR YOU WITH EVERY BREATH HIS HAS… HONEST STEVE HAS MY VOTE!! ENOUGH WITH MONEY RUNNING OUR STATE, WE NEED A CANDIDATE WITH INTEGRITY, NOT ONE THAT FILLS THEIR POCKETS WITH PROMISES. RETURN STEVE BACK TO TALLY!!!!!!

Are these the two(2) that neither one of them actually lives in the District because she can run on the coat tails of being the ceremonial mayor. Or this other one the Chiro. I mean really. So either one of them is going to move into the district after they win the seat. Can either one of them do this??..

OK, The Truth, not sure if you’re being sarcastic or serious, but it IS the same Steve Perman! Still lives in the same house as always, only now he’s running to represent a Broward seat. In fact, he claimed homestead on his Coral Springs house during the 2 years he was in the legislature representing a PALM BEACH district!
But even so, he’s likely going to try and distance himself from that Steve Perman when he’s running in a Democratic primary. It would seem that Democrats aren’t as into school vouchers as Steve’s voting record would indicate he is,

Perman didn’t live in the district when he was in Tally before. Why send him back again.? What has he done since leaving Tally besides move to where there would be an open seat?

Where’s that picture of her with the price tags again? Maybe the Miami Herald was right: she’s for sale!
