Fields: GOP Partisans Put Party Before Country

(Sam Fields is a Fort Lauderdale lawyer and a rabid Democrat.)

You have to at least admire Republican consultant Alex Castellanos’ honesty in responding to Gov. Charlie Crist’s support of the Obama stimulus plan.

He puts Republican Party loyalty above the national interest and he is proud of it.

“I don’t think he’s helped any national Republican ambitions he may have by stepping up to the plate and batting for the other teamThere a difference between working in a bipartisan way for the common good and switching sides and putting on the other team’s jersey.

Florida’s economy is leading the way into the economic crapper and Alex only cares about GOP obedience.

But he’s not the only one.

Republican Committeeman and former Broward County Commissioner Ed Kennedy is attacking  party members who are attending a fundraiser for U. S. Sen. Arlen Specter, R-PA.

Republicans forced U. S. Sen. Judd Gregg, R-NH,  to abandon his plans to be Secretary of Commerce even after it was agreed that the New Hampshire governor, a Democrat, would appoint a Republican to replace him.

I am sure that similar attacks are going on against Maine Republican U. S. Sens. Susan Collins and Olympia Snow.

The GOP has truly become the party of Rush Limbaugh who has publicly proclaimed that he hopes the Obama Presidency “fails. [Hey, you seen one Depression, you’ve seen them all.]

And notwithstanding that the “fatboy is a thrice divorced druggie and draft dodger, he has GOP pols racing to get in line under the mantle of:  RUSH AND THE GOP  ÃƒÅ“BER ALLES.

Apparently they learned a different lesson on November 4th than the rest of did.

With the exception of the over-the-top language typical of Sam Fields, even in court, who can argue with this?

  2. Floridan says:

I feel sorry for Chip LaMarca — what a bunch of nitwits he has to deal with.

  3. A Good Republican says:

Chip knew what he was getting into and I know that he keeps the ship steady by knowing that with a 2 to 1 margin in Broward by the DEMs, that means that Mitch Ceasar must deal with twice the “problems” that he does!

Arlen Specter can make the argument for his service to he GOP and its core values with the Supreme Court Justices that he helped get appointed. Collins and Snow? I think someone should fly up to Agusta, ME and take away their GOP cards!

  4. Sam Fields says:

    Dear Good Republican,
I hope you do. With Collins, Snow and Al Franken that will give us 62 in the Senate which means we can ignore the idiots like Inhof and Cronyn, etc.

By the way keep up the attacks on Obama and immigration reform. This will insure Back and Hispanic Democratic loyalty through the rest of the 21st century and keep the GOP as white as a sheet.

That way you can feel more comfortable when you sit around REC meetings or Coral Ridge Country Club and the CC Yacht Club complaining that they’re just not the same since they let “those people” in.
