Does He Want To Be In The House Or On The Hospital District?
BY BUDDY NEVINS
David R. Maymon wants to have a title in front of his name.
It doesn’t seem to matter whether it is “Hospital District commissioner” or “Florida state representative”.
David Maymon
Maymon, a Republican, is running for House District 91 in northeast Broward.
House 91 is the GOP-leaning seat that will be held until 2010 by state Rep. Ellyn Bogdanoff, R-Fort Lauderdale. She’s giving it up to run for state Senate.
But Maymon is hedging his bets.
He also applied to be appointed to the North Broward Hospital District, according to a list of applicants from Gov. Charlie Crist’s office.
Maymon is health care attorney from Fort Lauderdale.
Crist is about to make four appointments to the board of commissioners which governs the public hospitals and clinics for the northern two-thirds of the county.
Three incumbents have reapplied. Commissioner Maureen Jaeger is not seeking another term.

- Richard G. Paul-Hus, Supervisor, Hypower, Inc.

Would it be too much to ask a reporter to check the date of the application ? The EOG keeps these applications on file for up to four years sometimes.
FROM BUDDY: The name was distributed this week by the governor’s office by e-mail as a “current applicant.”
By the way, David Maymon got more publicity from this item than from weeks of campaigning! Let him withdraw his name and I’ll write it.

Where did this guy come from and why does he believe he should be elected to the House? I’ve never heard of him before. Ellyn Bogdanoff worked for many causes before running.

How old is this guy?
Why is everyone always afraid of a newcomer to politics?

Buddy,
The responsible thing to do would be request the application and check the date it was submitted.
FROM BUDDY: He submitted it earlier this year. I asked him directly if he was withdrawing his name from consideration. When he answers, I will post it.
