Crook Sends An Invitation To Join Linkedin

BY BUDDY NEVINS

I guess it is too late to tell Russell Adler that I’m joining him on Linkedin.

A friend of Browardbeat.com received this invitation from the aggressive online professional network this week:

Adler is awaiting sentencing on campaign finance fraud for illegally bundling hundreds of thousands of dollars as a former partner of Ponzi schemer  Scott Rothstein.

The only people who will be joining Adler in the near future are his cell mates.

This is one of the problems of these online services.  No one cleans up their membership in event of death or other mishaps.

Linkedin is sending out invitations from a crook to join, while Facebook has accounts from people who I know died several years ago.

The situation of Facebook never cleaning up their list is not all bad.

As a memorial, Facebook is cheaper than a monument in the cemetery when you’ve departed. Your “friends” can always find you a few clicks away…although you won’t be adding much to the conversation.  You’ll be frozen in time and you won’t even have to have somebody cut off your head, like the cryogenically preserved baseball star Ted Williams!

  1. He who has not sinned says:

Adler is awaiting sentencing on campaign finance fraud for illegally bundling hundreds of thousands of dollars as a former partner of Ponzi schemer Scott Rothstein. — I guess you didn’t read the charging document. It was for being reimbursed for campaign contributions. And, your friend probably hasn’t been on Linkedin in months and just noticed the invitation. Weak shot. Not news, not interesting.

  2. Linked out says:

Linked In is a frustrating site. I joined it, then un-joined it because I was getting too many unwanted “invitations” to join.

Even after I un-joined it, I continued to get invitations.

I like that Facebook allows deceased members’ accounts to stay on line. I have several deceased FB “friends” and it makes me feel good to see their names on my list and to visit their sites occasionally.

I got an invitation from Lamberti. That is just as bad.
