Birthers Beware: Is Ted Cruz A Natural Born Citizen?

BY SAM FIELDS

Is U. S. Sen. Ted Cruz a natural born American citizen?  Is Ted Cruz even and American citizen?

These are the kind of questions that the Birther crazies, who have never given up on trying to prove President Barack Obama is an illegal alien, have conspicuously ignored when it comes to the junior Senator from Texas..

In case you did not know it, Ted was not born in the United States and only one of his parents was arguably a U.S. citizen.  At the time of his birth his family had immigrated to Calgary so his father could run a business in the Canadian oilfields. Until May 14, 2014. Ted was hedging his bets by maintaining dual citizenship…if he was a United States citizen in the first place.

 Ted Cruz Birthcertificate

Article II,  Section 1, paragraph 9 spells out the citizenship qualifications for President:

“No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, [think Alexander Hamilton] shall be eligible to the Office of President…”

If it sounds simple just remember that the United State Supreme Court has never ruled on what “natural born Citizen” means.

Personally, I am 99% certain that Cruz is a natural born citizen and legally eligible to run for President.

At the same time, I am 100% certain that if Cruz was a Democrat, the Birther/Dittohead/Rightwing crazies would already be in court screaming that Cruz was an illegal candidate and a foreigner.

They would be pointing out that the above certificate is not the actual birth record and is only a document showing that “…the particulars of the undernoted…[are] on record…in the Department…”

Fox News would be talking about it more than Benghazi.

You can bet a case of Moosehead on that.

Is it even a concern? Cruz doesn’t have an ice cube’s chance in Hell to become President.

  2. Jack Murphy says:

A pathetic attempt at satire. Not funny at all. Its time to ditch Fields

  3. count l f chodkiewicz chudzikiewicz says:

After learning that cruz’s announcement was made in a mandatory college assembly where students were fined for not attending I realized Cruz is a total phony when talking about personal freedom n wrote him off as a list as well as a clown for tying up the government on hopeless crusades against Obamacare. His interference with the house Republican caucus shows he has no manners or respect for tradition or institutions. Please let us ignore this fake conservative. And, yes Chris Matthews he does talk attack and look like the despicable Joe mccarthy

  4. Oh really says:

Ted Cruz is Canadian and gave up his citizenship to Canada in 2014. He says
because his wife is on leave with a private
company she work because he is run for
    President. He doesn’t have healthcare
so he is applying for Obamacare because it is the law. As a Canadian he gets free health care or US Senator. He should go on Cobra insurance at the high cost all American when between jobs. Also Ted Cruz father fought for Fidel Castro.
So his dad is a communist.

  5. Nevins fan says:

I have been hoping someone would expose this guy’s Canadian birth. Though I agree he doesnt have much chance of winning the Republican nomination, he would never qualify for the presidency under the Constitution. So why is the idiot even declaring his candidacy?
PS: Contrary to Mr Murphy’s comment, I dont see Sam Fields’s article as satire but a straight-forward statement of fact, Ok, with perhaps a brief sarcastic comment. Now, let’s expose Cruz’s earlier vow to “repeal every word” of the Affordabe Care Act, only to enroll under it when his wife quit her job and thus lost her medical insurance coverage. Keep up the good work, Sam. And to Ted Cruz: keep up YOUR good work of looking like the fool you are.

So why hasn’t Obambam released his REAL stuff? I know, I know…you libturds don’t care if he wasn’t born here, or he took financial aid illegally, or if he smoked weed or snorted coke…or svcked cawk…he is just a kewl dude. So what he plays golf at a million dollars a game…and the country burns around him….he is a kewl dude.

  7. Fuzz T Was says:

Senator Cruz is not a natural born citizens, as he has stated himself: “I am a born citizen of the United States by STATUTE: Title 8 U.S.C. Sec. 1401(g).” That makes him a naturalized citizen like Arnold Schwarzenegger and not eligible to be President.

  8. cfkerchner says:

No matter what one thinks of his politics, Ted Cruz is NOT constitutionally eligible. And the two major political party lawyers Katyal and Clement can spin and put out disinformation to lend support to constitutionally ineligible people in both major parties, but they cannot change the original intent, meaning, and understanding of who is a “natural born Citizen” which comes from Natural Law and not man-made laws or acts of Congress. Both major political parties are out to dilute and abrogate the original intent, meaning, and understanding of the term “natural born Citizen” in Article II of our Constitution and why it was put there. Being simply ‘born a Citizen’ was proposed and not accepted. The founders and framers added the adjective “natural”. And that adjective comes from Natural Law. Adjectives mean something. Look up the meaning of the adjective “natural” when it comes to legal meaning in front of a noun. See section 212 of this legal treatise on the Principles of Natural Law which was written in 1758 Vattel, the 1775 edition which was edited and published by Dumas and was much used by the founders and framers: http://lonang.com/library/reference/vattel-law-of-nations/vatt-119/ Read: http://www.art2superpac.com/issues.html and http://jimsjustsayin.blogspot.com/2015/03/ina-post-on-harvard-law-review-forum.html and http://puzo1.blogspot.com/2015/03/a-response-to-neil-katyal-and-paul.html CDR Kerchner (Ret) – ProtectOurLiberty.org
