Local Demo Activist Accused of Sex Harassment

A very public sexual harassment allegation against a veteran Democratic activist and an employee of the Broward Property Appraiser’s Office has ripped through party circles.
What is Property Appraiser Marty Kiar going to do?

Manley is accusing a veteran Democratic activist Michael Albetta, a LGBT activist of harassment in tweets. There is more:
Now Kiar has to decide whether to investigate these public allegations despite Alberta’s clout in the party.
Again, what’s Marty going to do?

I don’t Mr.Manley.However,by his own admission is Gay.So because of his revelation did Mr.Albetta think is was ok,since he is Gay also.Judging by just what appears here I believe Me.Manley.Im sure like in Ft.lau the county has an Office of Professional Standard & certainly would investigate this.Mr.Kiar who I have meet & have also heard great things about him that if this is sustained( key) I no hestitation that Mr.Kiar will terminate Mr.Albetta.

How unfortunate to read this today. I know both of these gentleman, and worked with Michael Albetta for several years. Our Property Appraiser will do the right thing, he always does. For Mr. Manley to “notify” Marty Kiar in a public forum is what is unfortunate. He is a recent candidate for a State office, so, I am sure that he knows how to proceed. Publicly trashing someone’s reputation is certainly not the way to start an investigation, especially if one is seeking the truth. Knowing that everyone is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and knowing both parties for several years,I will stand by Michael Albetta and hope that the investigation shows that he earned my trust.

I have known Mr. Albetta for many years on a professional level and have never even heard a whisper of such an allegation. I have even heard Albetta publicly speak out against this kind of harassment on two separate occasions.
Like Ms. Lynn, I invite an investigation so that a man of proven integrity can clear his name.

It is certainly an unsavory story when private sexual messages (between two adults, here) get aired public. The message from Albetta seems to contain a porn link (also not illegal between two adults). Even the allegation that Albetta is living with a high school senior raises lots of the eyebrows, but the question is whether the senior is an adult (age 18) or underage. At best, this is all bad judgment from Albetta and embarrassing, and also seemingly revenge by Manley who is angry Albetta didn’t give him a campaign donation (that doesn’t make his claims untrue however). At worst, it is hard to say based on this scant information. But I presume Mr. Kiar will have some kind of credible and perhaps independent investigation conducted, as Albetta is one of his political staffers. Time will tell where this all leads.

I have NEVER agreed with Michael Alberta on anything BUT IN THE TEN YEARS I LIVED IN FORT LAUDERDALE I NEVER HEARD A WHISPER ABOUT U TOWARD BEHAVIOR BY MR ALBETTA. Frankly I lived in areas where Elijah Manley ran UNSUCCESSFULLY n he has made ODD statements in the past. Sorry I think it’s a smear by a perpetual candidate who never wins.
