Three Lawyers Disbarred In Case Tied To Broward Judge Removed From Bench

In a decision announced this week, three lawyers were suspended by the Florida Supreme Court in a fee splitting case tied to the earlier removal of Broward Circuit Court Judge Laura Watson.

Charles Kane, Harley Kane and Darin Lentrer were disbarred by a unanimous decision of the justices. Lentrer practiced law with Watson in the firm Watson and Lentrer before she became a judge

The three lawyers were involved in a fee dispute stemming from over 400 complicated personal injury protection (PIP) cases with Progressive Insurance. Various lawyers eventually negotiated a multi-million dollar settlement with Progressive and then squabbled over splitting the money.

The three lawyers, along with Watson’s firm, did not share the agreed upon amount with other lawyers, the Supreme Court found.

Watson was removed from the bench in June, 2015 for charges relating to this case. A story about her removal is linked here.

Fort Lauderdale Mayor Jack Seiler represented Lentrer in this case.

The case is linked here.

    1. Why mention one defense lawyer and none of the others?…

    FROM BUDDY:

Because he is the mayor of Fort Lauderdale.

  2. Count GFYS Chodkiewicz Chudzikiewicz Jr says:

I am in Pečovská Nová Ves enjoying myself.
1: Did John P. Seiler represent “Lentrer” as his attorney or as his role as Mayor of Fort Lauderdale?
2: Was there a ribbon cutting ceremony involved?
3: Was this defeat as an attormey a rephlection on his ability as the “Mayor”?
4: Does this defeet stymie Mayor Joe “John” jack Seiler future as a political powder house?
4: Is it true that Seiler will run against Satz next cycle?

  3. Angry Taxpayer says:

Disbar Ron Ishoy or make him handle a case. He gets more than $100ks to simply be Sats’s mouthpiece.

    FROM BUDDY:

I wouldn’t want Ron Ishoy handling any case of mine, since he is not a lawyer. He is State Attorney Mike Satz’s spokesman based on his previous experience in the media, most notably as a Miami Herald columnist and writer.

  4. Stormwatch says:

Is BSO’s spokesperson a certified police officer? What about the other police departments in Broward? Why does the state attorney get to allocate 100k per year for a non-attorney spokesperson? Why does the state attorney even need a spokesperson. Public speaking not in the job description?

  5. sick of politics says:

Oh Larry, (Count) you old cranky shmuck can you go back to NY and leave us alone already, you were thrown out of Miami Beach, because of your whacked out personality and caustic mouth, then given a house in Middle River and you life consists of going to Commission meeting and blasting everyone, why don’t you take your meds and STFU.
    You Hateful old Prick!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. Another Count remark too many says:

Buddy, dont listen to the C , Larry he’s disturbed and an emotional night mare, his life is empty and cold, he has an answer on everything and is just another charity case with a black suit and the worst shoes.
Report everything Jack is not an angel , the truth will come to haunt him soon, and his sights on Tallahasee is a wild dream.

  7. Count LF Chodkiewicz Chudzikiewicz says:

    5. and 6. are fake name bloggers who seem to be unsuccessful opponents of either former Miami Beach Mayor Neisen Kasdin or current Fort Lauderedale Mayor Jack Seiler.
