He is faced with a dying party operation. A bunch of 80 year olds who won't get out of their seats unless you offer them free bagels. He needs to go out and recruit new active members, but that is hard. Younger Democratics don't have the time becauase they are raising families and have better things to do than sit at the DEC doing mental masterbation all night.
