no I never implied that all lobbyist are bad.what I believe is that a lot of lobbyist are very good to incumbants who help them get there projects passed,And yes there are a lot of good projects passed a lot of them are beyond the pale to the point a lot of campaigns recieve campaign cash for there cash cow projects,my goodness check a lot of the campaign reports

in viewing government and watching the dynamics (and i won’t address the campaign contributions issue), i just can’t 100 percent broadbrush lobbyist projects as bad. you hear about the bad projects, but there are many good ones lobbyists bring. it’s like anything.

I agree with you,when the movey was coming into these offices when economic times were good they were spending a lot of money adminstratively,for fancy offices and fancy technlogy,this made these officials spend money over there heads,not taking into consideration that the economy could take a turn for the worse,know that the economy is on rough times people know want to know where there money was spent.The elected officals used there budget money spebding it on thing to prove why they should be reelected and looking to spend more money on lobbyist projects so they could give them more campiagn contibutions ,so it is impossble to beat an incumbamt,to ge to panic should be when the econimy is good and these elected officials have more money to spend.acouple of years ago these elected officials had runaway spending,now they have to cut spending which will be a mess,
what ever happened to the expression save for a rainy day

the underlying theme i see in all the county constitutional offices/office holders and the county commission, ESPECIALLy the School Board, and even bigger cities ie. hollywood, ft. lauderdale, is there a general tendency to sort of put the head in the sand and let things continue to operate the same way….all of these governmental offices, instituions, need to continuously self assess, self evaluate, revamp, tweak…their practices instead of just doing the same things the same way year after year..when things were good, not as big a deal, now look at things being in a bad way and there is general hysteria…and nothing is more aggravating than seeking elected officials moan and act wide eyed when the major scandal of the month hits…responsible oversight and assessment would head off a lot of this …

from the Democratic side, i would, in hindsight, probably say LeMac was the best, BUT he had issues in Hollywood that were of a relataively significant nature. Bruce U. was/is an incredibly skilled lawyer (good former prosecutor’s experience), but he defended, amongst others, that FBI Agent Farrell (and got him off) who drove on the wrong side of I95 and killed the 2 young men in a horrible crash.
