Debbie Wasserman Schultz: Saving Us From Pot

BY SAM FIELDS

The simple fact is this.  Marijuana laws, which lead to 700,000 arrests a year, do more to damage society than the millions of us who quietly smoke ganja.

Apparently Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schulz (D-Weston) has not gotten the message as evidenced by her decision to oppose Amendment 2 to legalize medical marijuana.

In the 1930’s, the impetus for marijuana laws was the notion that “drugged crazed Negroes,” high on pot, were raping virginal White women.

Eighty years later, race still underpins the enforcement of marijuana laws.  Otherwise, how do you explain the results of the law?

Blacks and Whites smoke in the same proportions.  Yet Blacks are arrested four to five times more often?

Marijuana laws are tools to keep Blacks in line.

Apparently Debbie doesn’t have a problem with that. She has no problem with drug laws that target Blacks.

She defends her opposition to medical marijuana by recalling her own “pot free” treatment for breast cancer.   If she was like my mother, she was treated with morphine-based drugs that mostly improved the bottom line of pharmaceutical companies and not patients.  It’s a pain treatment plan that leaves hundreds of thousands addicted to narcotics….a minor detail for Debbie.

I speak from personal experience about pain control. I have an arthritic neck that periodically touches a nerve leaving me in serious, debilitating pain.

I saw three doctors and now have a cabinet full of useless prescription painkillers gathering dust.  Ultimately, I went to a pain physician who sent me to the hospital where I was shot up with Propofol –I think I saw Michael Jackson’s picture on the bottle–and injected with steroids.

It did nada, zippo, bupkis.

I am told that the next stops are oxycodone and/or surgery.

Before I get addicted to that crap or paralyzed by some guy poking around my spinal column, I developed my own regimen.

My routine involves stretching exercises, a heating pad and occasionally smoking a “fatty”.

It works.

So Debbie, here is my message to you.  My personal choices are none of your goddamn business. Go back to what you are best at…ranting about Israel and Cuba.

Did I forget to mention pissing away my tax dollars promoting stupid pot laws?

Wasserman Schultz is the typical liberal. Wants to tell everybody else how to live.

  2. Chaz Stevens, Stone's Minion says:

Actually, Schultz’s stance on pot is not a typical “liberal” stance.

Liberals usually don’t give a flying fuck who you fuck, who you marry, or what you put into your body.

    Dear Sick of It:

Wasserman Schultz is ATYPICAL of liberals on this issue which is why ripped her a new one.

When it comes to drugs and sex, the conservatives are the know-it-all Nanny-staters.

The following is the list of all Florida Republican legislators, cabinet members and Congressmen who support Amendment 2:

    Not hard to memorize.

Methinks Sammy does more than the “occasional” fatty. And, BTW, how would we tell the difference?

Sam, if I ran against DWS, I would be a pro legalization conservative. Would you vote against Little Debbie and for me? Didn’t think so. Your rants are hilarious.

  5. SAM FIELDS says:

    Dear Sham,
That’s a fair question that deserves and answer.

Even if I was a one issue voter, I would still have to say no to you. Let me explain.

While I like your pot vote, I have to recognize that your first vote in Congress would to put people in charge of the House who are bad on the issue.

DWS is the opposite. She is pro-pot laws but would vote to put people in charge of the House who are more likely to reduce pot laws.

All that said and done, I was glad to see a few dozen GOP House members joined the majority of Dems to keep the DEA from enforcing Federal pot laws in states that have legalized medical marijuana.

  6. Duke says:

Very well written. Way to go Buddy.

    FROM BUDDY:

I edited it. Sam Fields wrote it.

“Marijuana laws are tools to keep Blacks in line.”

Way to play the race card, BTW.

Last time I checked, the Federal agencies had a Democrat in charge. A black Democrat named Obama. Is he using the laws to keep blacks in line? Are his agents using the law to keep blacks in line against Obama’s wishes?

More locally, almost every law enforcement agency in South Florida is managed by a Democrat administration. Are local Popos and Deputies using marijuana laws unjustly and against the Democrat majority wishes?

Are you sure this is a race issue or is it just convenient to couch all your political arguments that way? Guess what? If it is a race issue, then the Democrats are perpetrating it.

  8. Fed Up with Broward Corruption says:

Sam you are a jerk. DWS is also a jerk. BTW I support legal marijuana, abortion, and gay marriage AND I am a law and order kinda guy. Go figure…maybe the newest political trend without the typical Demoncrat and Rupub BS. Oh yeah Chairman O is a traitor and should be impeached and arrested. Funny how someone who claims to love the USA surrounds himself with people who hate us.

  9. Kevin Hill says:

Anybody who has followed Florida politics for the past 20 years or any part thereof) knows that Debbie has a bit of a puritanical/nanny state streak.

It does in fact make her stand out a bit.

  10. I Was There says:

DWS has become a ruthless power drunk political animal only interested in becoming more powerful. Her opposition of medical marijuana can only mean that a special interest important to her would be hurt if marijuana laws are weakened. Take a guess which that might be? Connect the dots.

  11. Sam Fields says:

    Dear Fed UP,
I am not sure of the impeachable crime(s) that you think Obama committed, but if you know some higher ups in the GOWP (Grand Old White Party) I urge you to start impeachment proceedings.

You see how well that worked for them with Clinton.

  12. Ha Ha Ha says:

Ya-mon: Jamaica legalises marijuana for personal use
Small amounts (no more than 2oz) will be permitted
People will also be allowed to possess drug for religious, scientific and medical reasons
Government also hopes relaxation will attract tourists

    Dear Sammy,
I, unlike you, am not a racist. But I am fed up with the corruption perpetuated by the politicians and their supporter enablers.
