Another Ross In Circuit Court

BY BUDDY NEVINS

For the first time in recent memory, a father and a daughter will serve on the Broward Circuit Court.
Gov. Rick Scott has chosen County Judge Stacy Ross for a circuit court opening.
She joins her father Circuit Judge Dale Ross. Dale Ross is the former chief judge of Broward.
“Judge Ross has consistently demonstrated a keen understanding of the law…Her legal knowledge will continue to be a great asset to Broward County,” Scott was quoted in a news release.
Stacy Ross has been a county judge since 2005. She was previously a prosecutor.
A graduate of Nova Law School — the previous name of the school — she replaces Susan Aramony, who died in office.

  1. Courthouse Observer says:

Bill Gilen and the group of dissatisfied attorneys around him have tried to sabotage the Ross’s for years. This is a rebuke for them and JAABLOG, which is only influential in the PDs office and the Sun-Sentinel.

  2. Republicans rule says:

    This was all Mr. Scherer.

  3. Anonymous says:

Stacy Ross was the most qualified by far. She’ll make a great judge.

  4. Politicians make bad judges says:

I’m not a fan of Governor Scott, but he has made good judicial appointments in Broward County. They are Raag Singhal, Chris Pole, Liz Scherer and now Stacy Ross. At least all of them had trial experience prior to becoming judge, which is more than could be said about Steve Feren, Ari Porth, Ken Gottlieb, Peter Weinstein, Ana Gardiner, Marty Dishowitz, ALL OF THEM BEING FORMER POLITICIANS.
    Politicians shouldn’t be judges!!!
