BY BUDDY NEVINS

Far down at the bottom of the ballot is a question that illustrates the pathetic inability of the ethically-challenged Broward County Commission to get anything done.

Lamberti’s Campaign Is Moving. . .Finally

Republican Sheriff Al Lamberti’s campaign starting gathering steam in the last week after sitting stalled and almost invisible for months.

It’s about time. There is less than two weeks until Election Day.

Rothstein’s Story: Jewish Kid From The Bronx Makes Waves

BY BUDDY NEVINS

Scott Rothstein has heard the rumors, the talk, the disparaging remarks.

His Rothstein Rosenfeldt Adler law firm’s business plan doesn’t make sense in a faltering economy.  Rothstein is expanding too fast.

Then there is his personal life.  He’s spending too much.  He’s too showy, ostentatious.  Like Humpty Dumpy, he’ll fall and shatter.

“My wife says I should put WD 40 all over my back so all the stuff thrown at me rolls off, Rothstein says. Read the rest of this entry »

He’s back.

It didn’t take Ken Jenne long to be involved in the race for sheriff.

Apparently Jenne is taking a role in the sheriff’s race less than a month after leaving prison.  And 13 months after quitting the sheriff’s job and pleading guilty to corruption charges. Read the rest of this entry »

Broward Needs Atwater As Senate President

BY BUDDY NEVINS

Pinocchio is back.

I don’t know how many times I have seen an ad illustrated with a photo of a politician doctored to appear to have an abnormally long nose.

Just like Pinocchio, the character from literature and movies whose nose grows if he lies.  Get it?

This political cliché is back, courtesy of the Florida Democratic Party.  This time the target in flyers is state Sen. Jeff Atwater, the Republican who represents a big hunk of northeast Broward and Palm Beach Counties. Read the rest of this entry »

Fields: Jews Should Beware Of Palin

BY SAM FIELDS

Guest Columnist

For the last thirty years we keep hearing that all will be well if only America were ruled by a Christian with Christian values.

The real issue is what will America be like if we have eight “more” years of  Bush/Palin’s Christian values?

As Buddy reported last week, Fort Lauderdale lawyer Scott Rothstein and U. S. Sen. Joe Lieberman had a lunch to raise money for McCain/Palin.

Apparently  Rothstein and Lieberman and a host of Republican Jews don’t have a problem or understand that a Vice President Sarah Palin means having a hardcore anti-Semite a skin cancer away from the Presidency. Read the rest of this entry »
